Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

What happens to the deposit I paid to Tesla?

The deposit of 2500 NOK that you have paid to Tesla will be refunded by Tesla either when your car is delivered or if you choose not to enter into a lease agreement with Arval after all.


Who is responsible for the delivery of my new Tesla?

All dialogue regarding the delivery of your new car takes place in consultation with Tesla. Once the agreement with Arval is made, we will order the car, and Tesla will contact you regarding the delivery of your new car.


How do I get access to the Tesla app?

Once you have received the car, you send an email with the following information:

  • License plate number
  • Full name
  • Email address

of the people you want to add to the app to privatleasing@arval.no.

 


What happens if I exceed the number of kilometers in my lease agreement?

If you exceed the number of kilometers agreed upon, you will be charged a fee per extra kilometer driven. Please refer to your offer or lease agreement for the exact cost per extra kilometer.


How long is the lease term?

The standard lease period is 36 months.


Is service included?

Arval offers a service and maintenance agreement as an additional service.


Are tires included?

We offer tire agreements including storage and tire changes as options. If you opt out of this agreement, the car will be delivered with one set of tires.

 


What basic requirements does Arval have for entering into a leasing agreement?

As a customer of Arval, you must be at least 18 years old, permanently residing in Norway, and have a valid class B driving license.


As a customer of Arval, do I have a right of withdrawal?

After signing the agreement, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal during which you can cancel the order.


What should I do if I drive more or less than agreed?

If your annual mileage changes during your current agreement, we recommend that you contact us so that we can adjust your contract and monthly payment together. If you exceed the agreed number of kilometers, you will be charged per extra kilometer driven. Please refer to your offer or lease agreement for the exact cost per extra kilometer.


How does the payment work?

You pay a fixed monthly fee throughout the lease period. The payment is made via direct debit, which means that you as a customer need to set up a direct debit agreement with Arval. To do this, log in to your online banking and follow the instructions to set up the direct debit. You can always contact your bank if you have any questions about how this process works.

Please note that you will need Arval's bank giro number as well as your customer number, which can be found in your lease agreement. Once the direct debit is correctly set up, Arval will charge the amount from your bank account. You will receive the invoice around the 15th of each month, and the amount will be withdrawn from your account within 15 days.

A direct debit authorization means that you have approved a certain amount to be withdrawn from your account. As long as there are sufficient funds in the account, the amount will be withdrawn automatically. You can revoke the authorization whenever you wish.

Please note that your first invoice from Arval will be higher than the subsequent invoices. The amount for the first invoice is determined by when you pick up the car and the due date of the billing period, as well as advance billing. Read more in our Terms & Conditions


Can I terminate my leasing agreement with Arval before the end of the contract?

You have the right to terminate the agreement before the agreed term expires, subject to a fee. Check your lease agreement for details or contact us for more information.


Do I need to insure the car?

As a lessee with Arval, you are required to take out comprehensive insurance on the leased car for the entire lease period.


Can I insure the car through Arval?

In your leasing agreement, you can choose to take out car insurance through Greenval. If you choose Arval's car insurance, the insurance premium will be billed together with the leasing fee in a single invoice. As a lessee with Arval, you are required to have insurance on the leased car throughout the entire leasing period.


Who owns the car?

With private lease, Arval owns the car. Arval rents the car out to you as a customer. This means, for example, that you don't need to worry about any potential depreciation.


What is included in the lease agreement through Arval?

As a leasing customer at Arval, delivery of the car, 24/7 roadside assistance, the registration fee, and the first set of tires, are included.
